One city, three different bikes, and an unstoppable desire to hit the road. A small tricycle takes on the mission of awakening inert metal, guiding other bicycles on a journey of freedom through the streets of Brazil. But when the group encounters metal companions incapable of following them, the tricycle's magic reaches its limit. To share the feeling of the wind in their faces with those who have never been able to move, it will need a much more brilliant solution.
I’ve carried this idea for 16 years, and when it finally became possible to produce, I realized the film had also become a container for many of the influences that formed my taste and imagination. There are small cinematic quotations throughout it, from E.T. to Cinema Paradiso as traces of the films that stayed with me over time. In that sense, Giro is both a new film and a conversation with the cinema that raised me. Using AI made the production viable, but the deeper impulse behind it was still the same: to make something simple, musical, emotional, and rooted in the way I learned to love film.
